
Sewell Eagle's Merit Badge Day
Merit Badge Day, hosted by the Sewell-Eagle District, will be on Saturday, March 8, 2008. It will be held in the Taylor Building (formerly CEBA Building) on the LSU campus. The event is open to all Boy Scouts. Come out and have a day of enjoyment while working on merit badges. Some merit badges are all day while some are only 2, 4, or 6 hours. Please make note of the times. In some instances, the scout may be able to take up to three merit badges. Check-in will be from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. We will have a brief opening and classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. Lunch will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
SCOUTMASTERS/PARENTS—LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE SCOUTS. IF YOU ARE STAYING AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE LUNCH WITH THE SCOUTS, PLEASE INDICATE BELOW.
THE COST FOR ADULTS IS $5.00.
PARENTS—There are vending machines available; however, there is NOT a
change machine available. Please send single one dollar bills or coins with your
scout if they wish to purchase items from the vending machines.
The classes will end at 5:00 p.m. The cost will be $10.00, lunch included (see
back of form for refund policy). Pre-registration is required in order to have
proper staffing. Since some merit badges will be popular, so it will be on a
first-paid, first-serve basis. There are some prerequisites listed on the
attached page for some of the merit badges. Please make sure that your Scout
reads this information as well as the merit badge pamphlet. Some of the merit
badges will not be able to be completed on this day.
Scouts are REQUIRED to bring the merit badge book to class. Field uniform is
encouraged, but activity uniform (scout shorts and appropriate scout T-shirt) is
acceptable.
The merit badges being offered are listed on the enclosed form along with the
minimum/maximum class size and the time schedule. Please look closely at the
time slots to avoid conflicts. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate
